FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WAX:
What kind of wax do you use in your candles?
We use a natural custom soy wax blend which contains both hard and soft waxes of varying densities in order to achieve our desired texture, melt point, performance and optimal scent throw.
Is your wax vegan?
Yes. Our soy wax blend contains absolutely NO animal products whatsoever.
Is your wax ethically and sustainably sourced?
Do your candles contain paraffin wax?
Our soy wax contains absolutely NO paraffin wax or petroleum products whatsoever.
What is the benefit of burning pure plant wax versus burning paraffin wax?
Despite the long-standing debate within the candle-making community as to whether or not paraffin wax is safe to burn in candles, after extensive research into this matter we have personally come to the conclusion that it is not.
As a byproduct of the oil/petroleum refining industry, paraffin wax releases harmful gases when burned, whereas pure plant and vegetable waxes, such as soy, palm, hemp and coconut, burn cleanly, safely and emit absolutely no toxic substances whatsoever.
Why isn’t plant wax as smooth and silky as paraffin wax?
Vegetable plant waxes molecular structure heavy devsex
Why has my wax darkened since lighting my candle for the first time?
Being that they’re completely natural, plant and vegetable waxes will darken/discolor somewhat due to being continually exposed to the intense heat of a flame as they burn. Some candle companies mix chemical additives into their wax to keep it from oxidizing over the life of the candle, however we prefer to keep our soy wax as clean and pure as possible and opt not to use waxes which contain such additives.
Why are there black streaks in my candle wax?

PERFORMANCE:
What makes your candles better than the candles I can get from my local store?
Why don’t your candles smell as strong as the candles I can get from my local store?
Q: Why doesn't the scent of my E33 candle fill up the room immediately?
Pure plant waxes such as soy and coconut are far heavier and more dense than paraffin wax molecularly, and as such take a bit longer to soften/melt in order to release their aromatic compounds into the air. You should begin to detect scent throw around the 15 minute mark after lighting your candle, with maximum scent throw achieved at the first hour.
Why do I have to let my candle burn long enough to melt the wax to the edges of the vessel?
Q: Why is my candle tunneling? How do I fix it?
Our candles are painstakingly wick’d to ensure that a full melt pool is achieved with each and every 3-4 hour burn session. However, if you regularly extinguish your candle before it has reached a full melt pool, tunneling can occur as soy wax has a “memory” and will only melt to whatever edge was created during the last burn session.

Why is my candle creating soot? I thought natural plant wax candles aren’t supposed to create soot.
Everything that burns creates soot, including completely natural substances. While waxes manufactured from pure plant sources create far less soot than waxes manufactured as a by-product of the petroleum-refining process, soot can still occur for several reasons: if the wick isn’t trimmed properly before each burn.
Why do I have to extinguish my candle after 4 hours?
Can I burn the wax all the way to the bottom of the vessel?
What is the burn time of your candles?
Our eleven ounce candles burn for approximately 60-70 hours depending upon how closely our HOME FRAGRANCE USAGE, CARE & SAFETY instructions are followed.
PRICING:
Why are your candles more expensive than the candles at my local store?
TROUBLESHOOTING:
Are your products natural?Yes, all our candles are made using all-natural, plant-based coconut soy wax blend for both clean and long lasting burn.
Why use wooden wicks?
We love the aesthetics of our natural wooden wicks and the soft soothing crackling sound it creates while burning. We also find that wooden wicks maximize the scent distribution with the type of wax we use. Because we use natural coconut soy wax blend, our candles will not have an overwhelming scent throw as store-bought paraffin candles may have. Our candles are rather delicate and suitable for everyday use yet bold enough to leave nice trails of soothing aromas in medium sized rooms.
Many store bought candles contain unnatural additives to achieve the creamy smooth tops, and although synthetic additives can be used to help prevent frosting, we opted to keep our candles free from unnatural ingredients!
Why is black smoke coming out of my candle?
Make sure you trim the wick to 1/8 inch before each burn. Simply pinch off the burnt ends with your fingers. Do not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours as all candles will product black smoke when lit for a long period of time.
Why won’t my candle light? Why is the flame so weak?
This happens if you have trimmed your wick too short and the wax around the wood drowns out the flame. Don’t worry! Simply use a napkin to soak up the melted wax and you will see the flame growing stronger. If your candle is not lighting at all, scrape off some of the wax around the wood and light it again.
Can the jar be repurposed?
Yes, refer to our Candle Care for tips on properly removing wax residue from the jar as well ways to repurpose the vessel.
MORE ABOUT OUR WAX
What kind of wax do you use?
We opted to go with coconut wax blended with soy wax because it is a renewable source, emits zero toxic and considered as one of the best and healthiest types of wax for candle production. Coconut wax is too soft to be used on its own, so we blend our wax with a natural soy wax produced domestically.
